Redneck Woman

What does your cellphone ring tone say about you? Do you find that you cringe if you get a call, say, in church? The doctor's office? How about in the presence of your parents?

I heard a ring tone today that was just offensive . . . I tried to talk over it until the person answered, but my 3 year old grandson heard it anyway. "That song is bad, Nana." I said, "yes". And moved away from the phone that just kept ringing. When the phone was answered, the person said loudly, "WTF!!! I said I was at f#$!% WalMart!"

I pushed the cart a little faster and distracted him with food.

I remember that mine used to "Redneck Woman." by Gretchen Wilson. I thought it was funny until it rang during choir practice. If I'm embarrassed, I don't need to have it.

Point of view is everything!

So today I found http://www.bitchcanwriteabook.blogspot.com/ and well, I remembered that I had made the promise to write more often and well, please accept my apologies!

I hope you visit the link up above. Her blog is slick and flashy.... sigh.... unlike mine which has been neglected for more than a couple of years.

Much has changed.... all is well though... God is still on the throne and I am still his child. SIGH.... I am going to step up my game... I must! I must!

Clarity and Understanding

The past few weeks have been enlightening.

I read the blog of an author who knew she was dying and wrote out her good bye to us. This was sobering to me.

I've spent time asking the Father what it is I should be writing, cuz, well I have yet to sell a million books... yes I know - I should allow patience to have her perfect work, it's just that for whatever the reason - I am anxious about it... often worrying when I know I should not.

My personal life, love life that is, is truly wonderful! I wish I could send the ex's a thank you note. God truly made the hurt and pain my footstool... I love this husband and each day finds us learning more about cleaving...

My children are growing and learning and evolving each day.

I'm learning to not take "Basketball Wives" too seriously. They appear to be sad bitter women struggling to just survive.

I watch "Housewives of ATL" for a whole different reason... =~)

Okay, I watch too much reality tv, cuz Ray J is working left nerve AND I'm not certain I care what Chili wants.

They are truly the new soap opera.

I write. I crochet cuz I have a new Nana baby to cover in love. Her name is Raquel. I haven't even been in the same room with her and yet - I am in love.

My friend Lisa posed a question on facebook the other day and it has been on my heart also. It was something about faith and accepting reality about a desire.

I have always desired to give birth to a son. In my plan, my girls have an older brother, but I suppose that it wasn't in God's plan, so I have all these daughters and my youngest is a son - from the hand of God - not from my body.

At 52 I am coming to grips with my reality of it... it may never happen... but God is still God and Sarah was 99......

As I type this I am listening to my hubby sleeping. It is causing me to want to curl up next to him and close my eyes in sleep.
So, I going to try and write again tomorrow...

Be Blessed people, love each other, ask for Godly wisdom in all things and by all means - buy one or all of my books....hahahaha! seriously though - buy one...

Just a touch....

Twenty-one days into the new year and things are truly looking up! So why is there an underlying feeling of frustration? I think it's the heart cleaning that's going on. Pastor Ted once said that fasting can feel like getting bathed with a steel wool washcloth.
hmmm... at this very moment, I realize where my frustration lies - jealousy. Wow! Isn't there such a thing as too much honesty?
Well, too late now, I've written it and I'm not going back to change it. My hubby does not doubt my ability as a writer, nor does he think that my dream of selling a million books is a pipe dream, so why do I?
I believe it's because of those who've gone before me in that arena. While I cringe at the thought of becoming "Christian Famous" that just may be where the blessing is and yet my heart yearns to get onto paper the people who live in my head... ha ha ha, that certainly sounds healthy huh?
I want to introduce Dana and Julie to the world, two women living separate lives, but struggling with the same issues. Then there's Martin Luther Adolf King, a victim of his bloodline and a captive in his own mind, since he trusted his best friend and found out that "just one hit of crack" will hurt you.
Reginald and Kay live there too. They are living and loving and going through life's challenges trying to remember that God is truly in control.
Then there's Paula. She is ever uncertain of herself, but always tries to remember that there truly is a call on her life. There are two things of which she, I Paula, is certain of: My heavenly Father and my Husband love me... What else is there?
